\nMuy buena pregunta. En general, usamos “no” como el opuesto de “yes” (s\u00ed) y con sustantivos. Usamos “not” con verbos.<\/p>\n

No = contrario de \u201cyes\u201d<\/strong>
\nUsamos la palabra \u201cno\u201d (el contrario de \u201cyes\u201d) para contestar brevemente en el negativo.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you want a cookie?\u201d \u201cNo, thank you.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No = zero<\/strong>
\nTambi\u00e9n usamos \u201cno\u201d con sustantivos para indicar la candidad de zero.<\/p>\n

There are no students in the classroom right now.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Not \u2013 cambia un verbo auxiliar al negativo<\/strong>
\nLa palabra \u201cnot\u201d es un adverbio que cambia un verbo auxiliar al negativo. Podemos escribir la palabra \u201cnot\u201d o usar la contracci\u00f3n \u201cn\u2019t\u201d. Los verbos auxiliares son be, have (con el significado de \u201chaber\u201d), can, could, will, may, might, must, ought, should, y would.<\/p>\n
