Es un poco confuso porque \u201csay\u201d y \u201ctell\u201d significan \u201cdecir\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Tell<\/h2>\n<p>Si usas el verbo \u201ctell\u201d (o su forma en el pasado \u201ctold\u201d), tienes que mencionar a quien te diriges (a quien dijiste). Como en los ejemplos abajo, le dijeron a Paul en la primera oraci\u00f3n, a Frank en la segunda oraci\u00f3n y a m\u00ed en la \u00faltima oraci\u00f3n. No puedes escribir estas oraciones con el verbo \u201ctell\u201d sin mencionar a quien le dijiste.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Tell Paul to finish washing the car. = D\u00edle a Paul que termine de lavar el carro.<br \/>\nShe told Frank that Mary will be late. = Ella le dijo a Frank que Mary llegar\u00e1 tarde.<br \/>\nHe told me to study for the test. = \u00c9l me dijo que estudiara para el examen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Generalmente se usa &#8220;tell&#8221; con el infinitivo del verbo (como en el primer y ultimo ejemplos arriba) y no con citas entre comillas. Tambien se puede usar \u201ctell\u201d con \u201cthat\u201d (que) como en el segundo ejemplo arriba.<\/p>\n<p>Hay algunas expresiones que siempre se usan con &#8220;tell&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>tell a secret &#8211; decir un secreto<br \/>\ntell the truth &#8211; decir la verdad<br \/>\ntell a lie &#8211; decir una mentira<br \/>\ntell a story &#8211; contar una historia<br \/>\ntell a joke &#8211; contar un chiste<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Say<\/h2>\n<p>A diferencia del verbo \u201ctell\u201d, puedes usar el verbo &#8220;say&#8221; con citas entre comillas como en los ejemplos abajo. Puedes mencionar a la persona a quien te diriges como en el segundo ejemplo abajo (\u201cto him\u201d) o puedes usar \u201csay\u201d sin mencionar a quien te diriges como en la primera oraci\u00f3n abajo. Si pones la persona a quien te diriges, tienes que anteponer la palabra &#8220;to&#8221; (\u201cto him\u201d).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I said, &#8220;Hi!
